Arabic and Farsi Linguist CAT II - NAVCENT

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Arabic and Persian-Farsi linguist (CAT II) to support U.S. Army operations in Bahrain. The linguist will act as a Subject Matter Expert, providing cultural insight and language expertise to senior leadership during a range of military activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational linguist support for military missions, interpreting during interviews, meetings and conferences.
• Transcribe and analyze verbal communications in Arabic and Persian-Farsi.
• Scan, research and evaluate foreign-language documents to extract key intelligence.
• Work aboard Navy vessels and on-site in Bahrain, often on rotating shifts and extended hours.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with a current U.S. passport.
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one before deployment.
• Willingness to work in Bahrain and on Navy vessels for periods of up to several weeks.
• Ability to adapt to local culture and meet Army MOD15 medical requirements.

Required skills

• Arabic language proficiency at ILR Level 3.
• Persian-Farsi language proficiency at ILR Level 3.
• English oral proficiency at ILR Level 2+ and reading at Level 2+.
• Secret clearance eligibility.
