Director of Human Resources – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Director of Human Resources will lead the overall HR strategy for a new 5‑star Kempinski property in Manama. Reporting to the General Manager and Executive Committee, you will align talent management, employee relations, learning, and culture with the hotel’s business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the pre‑opening HR master plan, budgeting, payroll, and manning guides.
• Establish SOPs, employee handbook policies, and HR systems (HRIS, time & attendance) in line with corporate and local standards.
• Oversee recruitment, career fairs, digital sourcing, and pre‑employment processes.
• Manage government relations, work visas, residency permits, and ensure compliance with Bahrain Labour Law and Bahrainisation quotas.
• Partner with department heads to design brand immersion, luxury service standards, and onboarding programs.
• Design competitive compensation, benefits, grievance procedures, and performance appraisal systems.
• Lead employee engagement, recognition, and wellness initiatives during the pre‑opening phase.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field (Master’s or CIPD/SHRM preferred).
• Minimum 5 years experience as Director of HR in a 5‑star luxury international hotel chain.
• Proven track record in at least one luxury hotel pre‑opening.
