Senior Captain – Papaya Lounge

About the role

The Senior Captain at Papaya Lounge leads banquet and event service, ensuring every guest experience meets the high standards of Marriott and The Ritz‑Carlton. You will coordinate with chefs, stewards, and front‑of‑house teams to deliver seamless service for group functions and private events.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions.
• Calculate total charges for group functions and present checks to guests for payment.
• Prepare banquet rooms, restaurants and coffee‑break areas for service, including table settings and centrepiece placement.
• Inspect china, glass and silverware for cleanliness and presentation before use.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any special dietary requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and adhere to all safety, security and company policies.
• Uphold uniform standards, professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Answer telephone calls with proper etiquette and welcome all guests according to company standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant food‑and‑beverage experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Capability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods.
