Data Protection Specialist Internship (GDPR)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Data Protection Specialist Intern to join our banking institution in Bahrain. The internship offers hands‑on experience with GDPR compliance, data‑protection processes, and interaction with HR and other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and maintain a Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) directory for the region.
• Conduct Privacy Assessment Questionnaires (PAQs) and declare any data breaches.
• Develop HR‑related procedures aligned with GDPR and data‑protection requirements.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on data‑protection topics.
• Assist HR teams in cleaning, organizing, and uploading procedures according to classification.
• Support the creation and rollout of GDPR policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure GDPR compliance in projects and operations.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of GDPR and data‑protection regulations.
• Educational background demonstrating a deep understanding of data and related regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Graduate level education.
• Bahraini nationality, as required by regulatory rules.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Advanced PowerPoint proficiency.
• Familiarity with data‑protection tools or software (optional).
