External Audit Senior Associate – Insurance

PwC Middle East is seeking an External Audit Senior Associate specialized in insurance to join its Assurance practice in Bahrain. The role involves delivering high‑quality audits, analysing financial statements, and supporting clients in meeting regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse client financial statements to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Examine financial and accounting records, including inventory and fixed assets.
• Conduct inquiries with client personnel through written and oral questions.
• Test internal controls and processes of the client organization.
• Build trust with clients by understanding expectations and delivering high‑quality service.
• Research industry information prior to engagements.
• Communicate progress, risks, and issues to Managers or Partners.
• Take ownership of external audit file completion and engagement economics.
• Review work of associate‑level staff, providing on‑the‑job training and feedback.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to assess financial statements.
• Experience in external audit, preferably within the insurance sector.
• Ability to ask probing questions and gather relevant information.
• Proactive in researching client industry and regulatory environment.
• Effective communication with senior team members and clients.
• Accountability for engagement timelines, budgets and quality.
• Capability to mentor junior staff and deliver constructive feedback.
