IFRS9 & ECL Reporting Officer (Risk Management)

About the role

The Group Risk Management Department at Arab Banking Corporation is looking for an IFRS9 & ECL Reporting Officer to operate from its Head Office in Bahrain. You will be responsible for generating quarterly IFRS9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) provisions using Moody's RCO across multiple subsidiaries and business units.

Key responsibilities

• Run Moody's IFRS9 RCO on various environments to produce quarterly ECL results for the Group and individual units.
• Collect, validate, and reconcile data from all ABC subsidiaries and business units.
• Generate analytical ECL reports from the Strategic System and integrate RCO outputs with other risk‑management tools.
• Maintain internal IFRS9 policies, standards, and configuration settings.
• Support strategic initiatives such as Risk MI Dashboard, Stress Testing, ICAAP, and portfolio reporting.
• Perform UAT for RCO changes and assist in automating ECL calculations.
• Report P&L charge to GCC and reconcile Stage 3 accounts with Group RLU.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in a similar role within a large regional or global financial institution.
• Graduate degree in Banking, Finance or a related field.
• Strong understanding of IFRS9, Basel guidelines and credit‑risk measurement techniques.

Required skills

• SQL and related database technologies.
• Statistical tools such as SAS, R and Python.
• Advanced Excel (data cleaning, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX‑MATCH, large‑dataset handling).
• Experience with Moody's IFRS9 RCO or similar credit‑risk engines.
