Information Technology Specialist

About the role

The Gulf Downstream Association (GDA) seeks an Information Technology Specialist to manage and support its IT environment. You will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the association’s technology assets while enabling seamless collaboration across its member network.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain GDA’s IT infrastructure, including networks, cloud platforms, storage systems, and endpoint devices.
• Provide technical support for the website, CRM, CMS, mobile application, Knowledge Hub, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and other business applications.
• Coordinate with external vendors, software developers, managed service providers, and hosting partners for implementation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Manage user account setup, access permissions, and enforce information‑security policies.
• Perform system monitoring, preventive maintenance, software updates, security patching, and performance optimisation.
• Support cybersecurity measures such as antivirus, firewalls, endpoint security, multi‑factor authentication, and vulnerability management.
• Oversee backup, disaster‑recovery, and business‑continuity processes, including regular testing.
• Handle procurement, installation, inventory, and lifecycle management of hardware, software licences, and subscriptions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date IT documentation, asset records, and procedural guides.
• Assist with IT requirements for conferences, webinars, hybrid events, and training sessions.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering network, cloud and storage infrastructures.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, CRM and CMS platforms.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and incident response.
• Ability to work with external vendors and manage service contracts.
• Excellent documentation and procedural writing skills.
