Lead Specialist, Contracts

About the role

KBR is seeking a Lead Specialist, Contracts to provide on‑site contract support for United States Navy base operating services and contingency task orders in Bahrain. The role requires deep expertise in contract management, the ability to interpret complex business issues, and a talent for delivering innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, and administer contracts and sub‑contracts.
• Review performance requirements to ensure compliance with legal, customer, and government regulations.
• Issue contract and financial program documents, aligning contractual terms with business strategy.
• Initiate internal documentation to authorize work according to contractual specifications.
• Monitor contractual obligations and ensure adherence to agreed terms.
• Mentor and lead project teams, advising on best practices and process improvements.
• Interpret internal and external business issues and recommend best practices.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams in solving complex problems with analytical and innovative approaches.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in contract management, preferably within defense or government contracting.
• Strong analytical abilities and a track record of solving complex contractual challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating difficult concepts and influencing decisions.
• Ability to work independently and lead project teams.
