Payment Services Officer

About the role

The Payment Services Officer will manage day‑to‑day payment processing activities and ensure operational risk is continuously monitored and mitigated. Working closely with the Group Service Centre and internal stakeholders, the role balances speed, accuracy and compliance to deliver a high‑quality service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily payment processing and related operational tasks, providing guidance to the Group Service Centre.
• Interpret and process customer instructions accurately, adhering to procedures and compliance standards.
• Maintain productivity targets, meet turnaround times and cut‑off deadlines.
• Identify and act on fraud, errors and irregular transactions in line with established procedures.
• Perform AML, WOLF and UV checks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Build strong internal relationships and provide timely referrals to relevant departments.
• Respond to customer and internal queries within agreed timelines.
• Support NSC Clearing operations, balancing speed and accuracy to minimise financial loss.
• Apply problem‑solving skills to anticipate issues and escalate when necessary.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong awareness of operational risk and ability to assess risk scenarios.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under strict cut‑off times.
• Good knowledge of AML, fraud detection and regulatory compliance.
• Effective communication skills for internal stakeholder management.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
