Quantity Surveyor – MEP (Manama)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Quantity Surveyor specialised in mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems to join AECOM’s Manama office. The role involves managing project costs, preparing comprehensive bills of quantities and supporting the delivery of MEP works across the construction lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for MEP systems and components.
• Analyse project specifications, drawings and technical documentation to quantify materials and labour.
• Monitor and control project costs throughout construction, identify variances and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct cost analysis and feasibility studies to aid project planning and decision‑making.
• Manage contract documentation, including variations, claims and change orders related to MEP work.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and ensure cost‑effective procurement.
• Prepare cost reports and financial forecasts for stakeholders and management.
• Conduct site inspections and measurements to verify quantities and ensure compliance with contract specifications.
• Maintain organised project records, databases and documentation for audit and reference purposes.
• Analyse tender documents and prepare cost comparisons to support vendor selection.

Required profile

• QS or Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Working towards MRICS qualification.
• 3‑5+ years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on MEP projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and their cost implications.
