Retail Project Manager

About the role

The Retail Project Manager will lead the planning and execution of custom joinery and interior fit‑out projects for retail environments. Reporting to senior leadership, the role requires independent management of multiple projects from award through to handover, ensuring timelines, quality, and client expectations are met.

Key responsibilities

• Organise project kick‑off meetings with internal departments and fit‑out teams, aligning scope, schedule and expectations.
• Conduct site assessments, surveys, and capture critical dimensions, loading zones and photographic documentation.
• Perform on‑site setting out/marking of joinery equipment when required and address technical queries from clients or contractors.
• Maintain the project schedule (preferably using MS Project), generate daily/weekly progress reports with photos, and submit them for review.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines without constant supervision.
• Coordinate daily communication between fit‑out teams, factory personnel and client representatives, escalating discrepancies promptly.
• Observe installations, report adjustments needed to equipment, and support continuous improvement of installation processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in joinery manufacturing or interior fit‑out projects, preferably within the retail sector.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage stakeholders both internal and external.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Self‑driven, highly responsible, and capable of delivering measurable improvements in efficiency.
• Team‑player who can identify strengths and weaknesses and motivate teams in challenging situations.

Required skills

• Microsoft Project (MS Projects) for scheduling and tracking.
