Analyst - Cyber Defense

About the role

Join Bapco Energies as a Cyber Defense Analyst and support the Security Operations Center (SOC) in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events across the organization. You will work under the Manager, Cyber Defense & NOC, ensuring the highest level of service for threat detection and incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor real‑time security events from SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and host logs (Unix & Windows).
• Analyze alerts to determine validity, priority, and impact, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Manage the lifecycle of alert tickets, ensuring proper tracking, actioning, and closure.
• Document investigations following standard procedures and contribute to SIEM rule tuning and custom log source integration.
• Support threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and the overall cyber‑security program.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Security, or equivalent experience.
• At least one security certification (e.g., SANS, Security+, CEH).
• 3+ years of experience in a SOC or related security role.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Required skills

• SIEM platforms and rule tuning.
• Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) tools.
• Email security solutions.
• Event log analysis (Unix, Windows, firewall, IDS/IPS).
• Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Ticketing systems and log parsing.
