Assistant Manager – Distribution Center

About the role

The Assistant Manager will oversee automation operations within a busy distribution centre, ensuring system availability, performance and safety while leading a technical team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of automated equipment such as conveyors, sorters, AS/RS and robotics, meeting KPIs for uptime and throughput.
• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programmes and coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Lead and mentor automation engineers, supervisors and technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
• Support planning, testing, commissioning and documentation of new automation projects and system upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, conducting root‑cause analyses and safety audits.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in warehouse automation or engineering, with 2‑3 years in a supervisory or assistant‑manager role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering; certifications in automation or lean operations are a plus.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
