Associate Factory Manager

About the role

The Associate Factory Manager will lead a large joinery manufacturing operation of over 700 workers, overseeing the production of display cases, bespoke interiors and other joinery products. This role focuses on improving efficiency, quality and capacity while aligning the plant with European manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance existing processes, propose mechanisation and optimise machining cycles (CNC, laser, etc.).
• Develop and manage production schedules, allocate work with shop‑floor supervisors and adjust plans as needed.
• Oversee new product development, selecting machines, tools, fixtures and inspection methods.
• Improve housekeeping, health & safety, product handling and overall plant organisation.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives and resolve technical bottlenecks on the shop floor.
• Coordinate with Metal, Purchasing, Stores, Logistics and H&S functions.
• Manage staff recruitment, performance, training and development to meet business goals.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience in factory management within a large furniture or joinery manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and man‑management skills, capable of directing a workforce of 700+ employees.
• Proven technical and execution abilities with a focus on capacity management.
• Deep knowledge of woodworking, joinery construction methods, finishing procedures, timber and veneers.
