Reliability Engineer – Part‑Time Remote

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Reliability Engineer to join our fully remote team. The role focuses on analysing equipment performance, identifying reliability risks and developing strategies that boost asset availability and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with maintenance, operations and technical teams to drive sustainable improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse equipment, system and process performance to pinpoint reliability issues.
• Develop and refine preventive, predictive and condition‑based maintenance strategies.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for failures, recurring defects and operational disruptions.
• Monitor reliability indicators, failure trends, downtime and maintenance performance.
• Prepare reliability reports, technical recommendations and improvement plans.
• Support FMEA, criticality assessments and reliability studies.
• Evaluate equipment risks and recommend actions to improve availability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering and quality teams on improvement initiatives.
• Review maintenance data to identify opportunities for asset performance optimisation and lifecycle cost reduction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Reliability Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• 3+ years of professional experience in engineering, reliability, maintenance or asset management.
• Strong understanding of reliability engineering, failure analysis, preventive maintenance and asset performance.
• Proven ability to perform root‑cause analysis, FMEA and reliability metrics.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and technical reporting skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to safety and engineering quality.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
