Business Development Manager (Crypto & Institutional)

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive customer acquisition and market expansion for a fast‑growing cryptocurrency exchange operating in Bahrain and the wider GCC. You will lead both B2B and B2C initiatives, building relationships with institutional investors, corporate clients, high‑net‑worth individuals, and strategic partners.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pitch, and onboard institutional clients such as hedge funds, family offices, asset managers, and proprietary trading firms.
• Secure corporate partnerships for crypto treasury solutions, payment gateways, and OTC trading services.
• Collaborate with marketing to launch retail acquisition campaigns, referral programs, and affiliate networks.
• Represent the exchange at regional blockchain, fintech, and financial events to boost brand awareness.
• Forge alliances with banks, payment processors, and regional blockchain projects to create fiat on/off‑ramp synergies.
• Gather client feedback to inform product roadmap and ensure compliance with the Central Bank of Bahrain’s Crypto‑Asset Module and AML/KYC regulations.
• Track KPIs, conversion rates, and pipeline health using CRM tools.

Required profile

• 8+ years of proven success in business development, B2B sales, or partnership roles.
• At least 1‑2 years of experience in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or fintech.
• Established network of institutional players, family offices, or HNWIs in Bahrain or the GCC.
• Strong understanding of digital assets, spot/margin trading, OTC desks, and the broader Web3 ecosystem.
• Familiarity with Bahrain’s financial regulatory landscape (CBB) and MENA region compliance.
