Communications Specialist

About the role

SAIC is seeking a Communications Specialist to support a deployable C4I system based in Bahrain. You will join a small, agile embedded team that provides on‑site system, network, and communications infrastructure support for mission‑essential C2 family of systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, process, and troubleshoot satellite systems.
• Submit satellite and gateway access requests (SAR/GAR) and create Request for Maintenance Assistance (RMA).
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Harris radios or equivalent RF equipment.
• Provide on‑site technical support 5 days a week, core hours 0800‑1700, with potential overtime during contingency operations.
• Support 24/7 operations as required, including alternate work schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of related experience (or four years of experience in lieu of a degree).
• Knowledge of setup and sustainment of deployable C2 systems.
• Experience with Harris radios or similar RF equipment.
• Experience in SATCOM administration and satellite antenna handling.
• Understanding of SAR/GAR processes and mission planning.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Willingness to relocate to Bahrain for a minimum one‑year assignment and travel up to 20%.
