Desalination Plant Operator

About the role

As a Desalination Plant Operator you will ensure the efficient and safe operation of the resort’s desalination plant. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in water‑treatment processes, excellent problem‑solving abilities, and can perform maintenance and monitoring tasks to guarantee an uninterrupted water supply.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and operate plant systems, adjust equipment settings, and conduct routine inspections of pumps, valves and filtration units.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, and coordinate major repairs with the engineering team.
• Test water samples, record treatment data, manage chemical dosing and inventory, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Maintain accurate logs, prepare daily performance reports, and promptly report any equipment issues.
• Follow safety procedures, conduct regular safety inspections, and ensure adherence to environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in desalination plant operations or a related field.
• Strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical and water‑treatment systems.
• Familiarity with reverse osmosis, chemical dosing and water‑quality monitoring.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
