Sustainability Director

About the role

The part‑time hybrid Sustainability Director role is based in the Southern Governorate of Bahrain, with flexibility to work from home. You will lead the development and execution of the organisation’s sustainability strategy, embedding environmental and social responsibility across core business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor sustainability initiatives that address carbon reduction, resource efficiency and responsible practices.
• Coordinate cross‑functional projects and advise senior leadership on sustainability targets and performance metrics.
• Prepare internal and external sustainability reports in line with GRI, ESG and other relevant standards.
• Engage with employees, partners, community organisations and other stakeholders to promote responsible practices.
• Ensure compliance with local and international environmental and social regulations.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in corporate sustainability strategy development and integration.
• Experience in sustainability reporting and familiarity with frameworks such as GRI and ESG guidelines.
• Knowledge of corporate social responsibility, community engagement and stakeholder relations.
• Understanding of carbon management, measurement and reduction initiatives.
• Academic background in environmental science, sustainability or a related discipline (bachelor’s or master’s degree).
• Strong analytical, project‑management and communication skills, with ability to present to senior leadership.
