Diagnostic Technician – Vehicle Service Center

About the role

We are seeking a Diagnostic Technician to join our multi‑brand vehicle service centre. You will use advanced diagnostic equipment to accurately identify electrical, electronic, mechanical and system‑related faults, supporting the workshop team in delivering efficient repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles to locate electrical, electronic, mechanical and system faults.
• Use manufacturer‑specific and advanced diagnostic tools to retrieve and interpret fault codes and system data.
• Systematically troubleshoot reported issues, determining whether the cause is a component, wiring, sensor or control module.
• Inspect vehicles, conduct diagnostic tests based on customer complaints and service advisor reports.
• Provide clear technical recommendations and communicate findings to service advisors and technicians.
• Support technicians during complex repairs and verify completed work with appropriate diagnostic checks.
• Document diagnosed faults accurately in the workshop/job‑card system and escalate unresolved issues to the workshop manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑4 years of hands‑on automotive diagnostic experience, preferably in a dealership or professional workshop.
• Diploma, certificate or equivalent qualification in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology or a related field.
• Strong troubleshooting ability, attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced workshop environment and collaborate with the service team.
