Director of Development

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Development to lead the planning, execution and delivery of major real‑estate projects in Bahrain. The role oversees the full development lifecycle, manages key stakeholders and ensures projects meet the company’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, development and execution of large‑scale mixed‑use, residential, commercial, hospitality and waterfront projects across Bahrain.
• Develop and implement development strategies aligned with corporate objectives, investment targets and market opportunities.
• Oversee the full lifecycle from land acquisition, feasibility, design, approvals, procurement, construction to delivery.
• Manage relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, consultants, contractors, investors and other stakeholders.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including development, design, engineering, project management, commercial and sales functions.
• Drive financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, cost control and risk management.
• Ensure timely delivery while maintaining high standards of quality, sustainability and operational excellence.
• Negotiate development agreements, consultant appointments and strategic partnerships to maximise project value.
• Monitor market trends and identify new investment and development opportunities.
• Provide executive‑level reporting on project progress, commercial performance and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven track record in large‑scale real‑estate development.
• Strong leadership abilities and commercial acumen.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder networks.
• Ability to drive projects from concept through delivery while meeting quality and sustainability standards.
