Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance will safeguard hotel assets, optimise profitability and ensure strict financial controls and regulatory compliance. As a core member of the Executive Committee, you will lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and reporting for the hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance and accounting department, advising the General Manager and Executive Committee on strategic matters.
• Act as the primary financial liaison to hotel owners, ensuring compliance with the Hotel Management Agreement.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and conduct P&L reviews with department heads.
• Develop the annual operating budget, business plan and CapEx plan, and drive rolling forecasts.
• Oversee cash management, liquidity, bank reconciliations and working‑capital optimisation.
• Design and maintain robust internal controls, manage audits and ensure compliance with local laws and tax obligations.
• Supervise procurement, store operations, credit management, accounts receivable and payroll functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; MBA (Finance) preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Director of Finance or senior Assistant Director of Finance in a 5‑star international luxury hotel chain.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and communication skills, comfortable presenting to owners and board members.

Required skills

• Proficiency in hotel accounting software such as Opera PMS, SunSystems, Material Control/FBM and Oracle.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with GCC local tax regulations.
