Electrical Engineer - Fit-Out & MEP Projects

About the role

An experienced Electrical Engineer is sought for interior fit-out and MEP construction projects. The engineer plans, executes, supervises, tests, commissions and hands over electrical systems in line with project specifications, safety standards and client requirements, coordinating with project managers, consultants, subcontractors and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise electrical installation on fit-out projects and review drawings, specifications, BOQs and shop drawings.
• Install and supervise lighting, small power, distribution boards, cable containment, earthing and lightning protection, emergency lighting, low-current (ELV) and CCTV/access control systems.
• Coordinate with architectural, civil, mechanical and fit-out teams and ensure compliance with standards and local authority regulations.
• Test and commission electrical systems, prepare test reports and support final handover.
• Liaise with consultants, clients and suppliers, resolve technical issues and attend coordination meetings.
• Prepare material take-offs, track material consumption, assist with variation orders and cost estimates, and monitor project budgets.
• Ensure HSE compliance, conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks, and maintain project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of experience, including at least 3 years in commercial or retail fit-out projects; Gulf experience preferred.
• Experience in office, retail, mall, hospitality, restaurant, villa or luxury residential fit-outs preferred.

Required skills

• Electrical distribution, lighting and power, LV, ELV, fire alarm, structured cabling, CCTV and access control systems.
• Testing and commissioning procedures and local authority regulations.
• Software: AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Excel, Revit (preferred), Primavera P6 (preferred); ERP systems.
• Project management, site supervision, quality control and cost awareness.
