Electrical Engineer – Interior Fit‑Out & MEP Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead interior fit‑out and MEP construction projects. The role involves planning, execution, supervision, testing, commissioning and handover of electrical systems while ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all electrical installation activities for fit‑out projects and review drawings, specifications, BOQs and shop drawings.
• Coordinate electrical works with architectural, civil, mechanical and interior fit‑out teams, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.
• Oversee installation of lighting, small power, distribution boards, cable containment, earthing, lightning protection, emergency lighting and low‑current ELV systems.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks and ensure workmanship follows approved shop drawings.
• Lead testing and commissioning activities, prepare reports and support final handover to clients and consultants.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and attend coordination meetings.
• Prepare material take‑offs, monitor consumption, assist in variation orders and track project budgets.
• Ensure health, safety and quality compliance through risk assessments, toolbox talks and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5‑10 years of electrical engineering experience, with at least 3 years in commercial or retail fit‑out projects.
• Gulf region experience preferred.

Required skills

• Electrical distribution, LV and ELV systems.
• Lighting and power systems, fire alarm, structured cabling, CCTV and access control.
• Testing and commissioning procedures, local authority regulations.
• Software: AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Excel, Revit (preferred), Primavera P6 (preferred), ERP systems.
