Engineering Lab Technician

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Lab Technician to support our multidisciplinary engineering laboratory. The role involves maintaining equipment, assisting engineers and researchers, and ensuring a safe, organized workspace.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment across mechanical, electrical, civil, and materials engineering.
• Assist engineers and researchers with experiments, sample preparation, monitoring, and data recording.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate vendor repairs and calibrations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct inspections, and keep the lab clean and organized.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and restock materials as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and other technicians on interdisciplinary projects.
• Train and supervise new lab personnel and interns, ensuring adherence to protocols.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or laboratory science (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate data recording.
• Ability to lift equipment up to 22 kg and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Operation and calibration of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Use of data analysis tools and relevant software.
• Technical troubleshooting and maintenance.
