Equation Developer - Remote

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Equation Developer to work remotely for a leading Islamic bank in Bahrain. The role involves designing, developing and maintaining middleware solutions that integrate the Equation Core Banking system with digital channels and third‑party services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain middleware using IBM Integration technologies.
• Integrate core banking with digital channels, external APIs and messaging platforms.
• Ensure scalability, reliability and security of integration components.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and define integration flows.
• Develop and maintain micro‑services architecture for system communication.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues and enforce secure development practices.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for middleware deployment and updates.
• Document integration flows, technical specifications and support procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7–10 years of IT development experience, preferably in banking.
• Strong experience with RPGLE, CL, SQLRPG and AS400 file management.
• Deep knowledge of Equation Core Banking (back‑end files, data management, EOD cycle, APIs, user exits).
• Experience following structured SDLC processes and change/release management.
