Field Operator I

About the role
We are seeking a Field Operator I to assist in the safe and efficient operation of our plant. Working under supervision, you will help achieve production targets while maintaining strict safety and procedural standards.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in operating and monitoring process equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Record equipment parameters in the field and report abnormalities to supervisors or CRO.
- Support system start‑ups and shutdowns as directed.
- Perform mechanical and instrumentation tasks as assigned.
- Help pressurize and depressurize equipment and pipelines when required.
- Monitor pressure, temperature and level gauges, reporting irregularities.
- Follow established O&M instructions and supervisor guidance to maintain stable plant operations.
- Participate in troubleshooting compressors after unexpected shutdowns.
- Conduct basic operational and maintenance checks (daily, weekly, monthly) under supervision.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance, including isolation, draining and decontamination.
- Ensure accurate handover of information to the next shift.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions.
- Handle chemicals, lubricants and coolants safely and collect samples as directed.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with Emergency Response Team duties.
Required profile
- Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of experience in a similar role within the oil & gas sector.
- Familiarity with plant equipment, processes and ongoing activities.
- General troubleshooting, problem‑solving and information analysis skills.
- Understanding of plant PFDs, P&IDs, drawings, cause‑and‑effect matrix and fire‑gas detection philosophy.
- Basic knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems (work orders, preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and good command of written and spoken English.
Required skills
- Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical or Petroleum engineering.
- Familiarity with plant equipment and process monitoring.
- General troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Understanding of PFDs, P&IDs, and process drawings.
- Knowledge of cause‑and‑effect matrices and fire‑gas detection systems.
- Basic use of Maintenance Management Systems (work orders, preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance).
- Computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Office applications.
