Field Operator II – Gas Compression Plant

About the role

The Field Operator II is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a gas compression plant, ensuring production targets are met while prioritising safety and reliability. The role involves close communication with supervisors, clients and other stakeholders to support seamless, trouble‑free operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor all process equipment, logging operational parameters and performing routine maintenance.
• Identify and report critical abnormalities, troubleshoot unexpected shutdowns and restart compressors.
• Coordinate start‑ups, shutdowns and pressure adjustments with supervisors and the CRO.
• Conduct regular operational and maintenance checks according to scheduled plans.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance, including isolation, draining and decontamination.
• Hand over shift information to maintain or improve plant performance.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience operating gas compression plants.
• Ability to work in hot, humid, remote site conditions and on rotating shift schedules.
• Good English communication skills; Arabic is an asset.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Waukesha/CAT engines and Ariel compressors, including cooling, lubrication, fuel and air systems.
• Understanding of plant PFDs, P&IDs, drawings and fire‑gas detection system philosophy.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (work orders, preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and general computer use.
