General Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

The General Manager will lead the hotel from concept to full operation, ensuring a successful opening and sustained profitability. Reporting to ownership, the GM is accountable for guest experience, financial performance, brand standards, and team engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the hotel’s strategic budget, revenue targets and GOP objectives.
• Lead the opening project, managing the critical path, recruitment, onboarding and training to meet the launch schedule.
• Drive revenue optimization and cost‑control initiatives, including RevPAR, RGI and operational expense management.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, quality audits, Medallia scores and Wyndham People Compliance.
• Inspire, coach and motivate department heads and staff to achieve KPI’s and deliver exceptional guest service.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, acting as the brand ambassador.
• Oversee marketing, PR and social media activities to raise the hotel’s profile in the market.
• Monitor and improve employee engagement, turnover, productivity and recruitment metrics.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in hotel management, preferably as General Manager or equivalent.
• Strong financial acumen with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and profit targets.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi‑disciplinary teams and foster a high‑performance culture.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including owner and brand relations.
• Experience managing hotel openings or major renovation projects.
• Commitment to brand standards, quality assurance and sustainability initiatives.
