Lifeguard – Hotel Pool Safety Officer

About the role

The Lifeguard ensures the safety of all guests using the hotel pool, enforces pool rules, assists swimmers in difficulty, and maintains a clean pool environment in line with Wyndham policies. The role supports pool bar operations, monitors water quality, and assists with other hotel services as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safety equipment in the pool area is in place and functional.
• Patrol the pool, monitor guests, and intervene promptly with any unsafe practices or swimmers in distress.
• Clean the pool daily using a vacuum and skimmer, and monitor water clarity, reporting issues to the Spa Supervisor.
• Perform weekly checks of pool tiles and grout to prevent algae buildup.
• Remove debris, garbage, and maintain poolside furniture, sun beds, tables, and umbrellas.
• Assist pool bar staff with clearing glasses and plates, and support reception duties when required.

Required profile

• Ability to remain calm and act effectively in emergency situations.
• Certified in CPR and emergency medical procedures.
• Pass a pre‑employment physical evaluation and hold the required lifeguard certification.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete routine administrative paperwork.
