Head of IT

About the role

Our client, an investment business firm based in Bahrain, is seeking a senior leader to head its IT function. The Head of IT will be responsible for shaping the technology strategy, ensuring robust infrastructure, and aligning IT services with the company’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan, direct and coordinate all operational activities of the IT department, delivering solutions that support core business processes.
• Develop and manage a cost‑effective IT strategy that scales with current and projected business volumes.
• Oversee all IT systems, including in‑house software, hardware, networks, outsourced services and portable devices.
• Contribute to the formulation of the company’s business and service objectives and translate them into actionable IT and IS strategies.
• Collaborate with departmental managers to identify IT priorities and drive process improvements.
• Lead the senior management team and project steering groups, preparing long‑ and short‑term plans and presenting recommendations to executive committees and the board.
• Maintain service level agreements, optimize resource utilization, and ensure the IT department delivers reliable support to all users.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading an IT function within a complex, regulated environment.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align technology initiatives with business goals.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with senior executives, board members and cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendor relationships and large‑scale projects.
