Head of Procurement

About the role

The Head of Procurement leads the organization’s procurement function, developing strategic sourcing initiatives and managing supplier relationships. This role ensures cost‑effective, compliant acquisition of goods and services while supporting business and project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
• Lead the end‑to‑end procurement process, including sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance monitoring.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring quality, compliance, and value for money.
• Negotiate commercial terms and contracts to achieve optimal business outcomes.
• Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Project Management or a related field.
• Professional procurement or supply chain certifications (e.g., CIPS) are desirable.
• Minimum of 8–10 years of procurement experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management and large‑scale project procurement.
• Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation, leadership, communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Experience using procurement software.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
