Health & Safety Officer

About the role

The Health & Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of occupational health and safety systems across our production and support operations in Bahrain. You will ensure a safe work environment by identifying hazards, enforcing compliance, and fostering a culture of safety.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures, manuals, and quality documentation.
• Inspect equipment, machinery, and work areas to identify risks and implement preventive measures.
• Manage the internal Health & Safety team, providing training and guidance.
• Liaise with government authorities to ensure regulatory compliance and smooth business operations.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain emergency response plans, conduct audits, and oversee hazardous waste management.
• Communicate program status to senior management and external regulators.

Required profile

• Bahraini nationals with at least 3 years of HSE experience, or expatriates with 6 years or more.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain HSE laws and reporting requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• NEBOSH Diploma or comparable health & safety certification.
• Positive attitude, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility.
