Health & Safety Officer

About the role

The Health & Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of occupational health and safety systems across our production and support sites in Bahrain. You will work closely with management, external authorities, and the safety team to ensure a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update health and safety policies, procedures and manuals.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
• Manage the Health & Safety team and promote a safety‑first culture.
• Liaise with government authorities to ensure compliance with Bahrain HSE legislation.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain emergency response plans, audit local OHS compliance and manage hazardous waste procedures.
• Provide regular reports to senior management on safety performance.

Required profile

• Bahraini nationals with at least 3 years of HSE experience, or expatriates with 6 years or more.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain HSE laws, reporting requirements and liaison processes.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• NEBOSH Diploma or comparable health‑and‑safety certification.
• Positive attitude, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

Required skills

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• In‑depth knowledge of Bahrain occupational health and safety regulations.
• Computer proficiency for documentation and reporting.
