Interior Design Specialist

About the role

The Interior Design Specialist inspires and surprises IKEA visitors by presenting the home furnishing offer through strong visual impressions that exceed expectations. The role combines commercial planning with local market insights to strengthen the IKEA brand, drive sales and ensure long‑term profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Use home furnishing competence to create inspiring and functional solutions across room settings, homes, vignettes and sales support areas that reflect the IKEA identity.
• Gather insights from home visits and customer needs and translate them into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic and commercial solutions.
• Contribute to the Showroom Matrix, ensuring a variety of styles, living situations and price levels with strong visual impact.
• Plan and implement range presentation solutions using IKEA global tools, ensuring high quality, simplicity, efficiency and cost‑consciousness.
• Use IKEA Revit software, libraries and templates to complete commercial planning packages within agreed timelines.
• Stay updated on home furnishing, retail and market trends and contribute creative ideas during workshops and planning sessions.
• Work closely with the Commercial & In‑store team and other functions to execute plans and identify commercial opportunities.
• Maintain a strong customer focus on the shop floor while minimizing disruption, ensuring safety and a positive visual impression.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome; 2+ years of relevant experience is an advantage.
• Strong interest in home furnishing, interior design, retail and current trends.
• Good sense of aesthetics, functionality and commercial presentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and functions.
• Good planning, organization and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit (preferred).
