About the role
The Lead Accounts Officer will support the Head of Accounts Payable in planning, reviewing and analysing the function while managing relationships with internal customers and vendors. The role ensures timely processing of payment requests and drives improvements in reporting and automation.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for all Accounts Payable inquiries and approve payments efficiently.
- Monitor dashboards, vendor balances, aged payables and outstanding advances, providing data for analysis.
- Maintain accurate records, reconcile vendor statements and employee expenses, and resolve discrepancies.
- Escalate critical matters to the Head of Accounts Payable and Finance Director to support decision‑making.
- Collaborate with IT to automate processes and enhance reporting.
- Develop and implement Accounts Payable policies, train staff and liaise with external auditors and tax teams.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Accounts Payable role.
- Semi‑Qualified Chartered Accountant, Bachelor/Master of Commerce or equivalent qualification.
- Proven ability to lead a team of accountants and build vendor relationships.
- Fluent in Arabic (written and spoken) with strong communication skills.
