Lead Setter Out – Manufacturing & Project Coordination

About the role

Coordinate and efficiently implement setting‑out activities to ensure smooth project flow in manufacturing and delivery processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review project details and kick‑off information received from the Setting Out Manager.
• Prepare project drawing schedules and manage shop‑drawing preparation and submittal.
• Check material specifications, incorporate them into shop drawings and resolve discrepancies with the line manager.
• Identify material and sample requirements, raise RFIs and obtain clearances for spec deviations.
• Produce detailed, high‑quality shop drawings considering joinery practices, wastage, and site constraints.
• Source hardware accessories, raise material requisitions and ensure timely delivery.
• Issue cutting lists and loading lines to the factory and communicate with site installation teams.
• Coordinate site surveys or alternative setting‑out plans for fast‑track projects.

Required profile

• 5–10 years experience in setting out and detailed shop‑drawing preparation within a shop‑fitting or joinery manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to manage the full setting‑out process from site survey to material take‑off and ordering.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures and common shop‑fitting materials such as timber, laminates, metal, hardware and acrylics.
