Lecturer in Graphic Design

About the role

BUB invites applications for a Lecturer in Graphic Design to join its growing academic team. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality teaching, develop curriculum, engage in research and creative practice, and build partnerships with industry and the University of Salford.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching across Graphic Design and related modules.
• Develop teaching materials and contribute to curriculum design in collaboration with the University of Salford.
• Supervise student projects, placements, and field trips.
• Assess coursework and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
• Act as a personal tutor and provide academic support to students.
• Undertake research, publications, conference presentations and creative practice.
• Collaborate with industry partners and external stakeholders to enhance teaching, research and student engagement.

Required profile

• BA/BFA and MA/MFA in Graphic Design, Advertising or a closely related discipline from a recognised university.
• Significant experience teaching Graphic Design or Advertising at higher‑education level.
• Experience developing teaching materials and assessments.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design software.
• Desirable: Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Desirable: Experience in curriculum design, programme development and active participation in exhibitions, competitions or professional creative practice.
