Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor leads the maintenance team in a joinery workshop and metal fabrication facility, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, safety and efficiency. The role involves planning preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems, and coordinating with external service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train and schedule daily tasks for maintenance technicians and assistants.
• Develop and execute preventive‑maintenance schedules for all joinery and metalworking machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment failures promptly.
• Coordinate with external contractors and OEM technicians for specialised machinery servicing.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and order critical components to minimise production downtime.
• Enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring machinery guards and extraction systems function correctly.
• Oversee general factory infrastructure, including compressed air systems, power distribution and dust extraction.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years industrial maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role within joinery, furniture manufacturing or metal fabrication.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent technical trade certification.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, effective communication and capacity to work under production pressure.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with CNC Beam Saws, CNC routers, edge banders, panel saws, spindle molders, hot press, Cefla finishing line and dust extraction systems.
• Proficiency with CNC laser, press brakes, MIG/TIG welding machines, sand‑blasting, powder coating equipment and compressors.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams and mechanical blueprints.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for maintenance planning.
