About the role
The Personnel Assistant I will support Navy Personnel Command in Manama, Bahrain by verifying identity, issuing DoD identification cards, and maintaining DEERS records. This position is part of Chenega's Military, Intelligence & Operations Support team, providing essential administrative services to military personnel, retirees, dependents, and contractors.
Key responsibilities
- Interact with customers face‑to‑face, providing courteous service and de‑escalating stressful situations.
- Verify eligibility and issue Common Access Cards (CAC) and Uniformed Service Identification (USID) cards through the DEERS/RAPIDS system.
- Serve as the Verifying Official on DEERS/RAPIDS terminals, ensuring data accuracy.
- Answer telephone inquiries, monitor wait times, and manage sign‑in sheets.
- Perform CAC updates, PIN resets, PKI certificate verification, and other identification card services.
- Return failed or retrieved CACs to DMDC monthly and maintain accurate records.
- Notify security personnel of any unauthorized or unsafe actions.
Required profile
- Strong customer‑service orientation with a positive attitude and empathy.
- Excellent communication, time‑management, and composure under pressure.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow strict security and identification protocols.
- Willingness to work onsite in a government‑support environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the DEERS/RAPIDS system.
- Experience issuing and managing Common Access Cards (CAC).
- Knowledge of PKI certificate handling.
- Familiarity with HSPD‑12 and FIPS‑201‑1 identification standards.
