Preschool Learning Assistant

About the role

Join a new preschool project in Bahrain that follows Finnish Early Childhood Education and Care principles. You will work closely with the lead teacher to create a safe, joyful and inclusive environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity and lifelong learning.

Key responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher in delivering play‑based, child‑centered learning activities.
• Encourage children’s independence, creativity and problem‑solving through daily routines and exploration.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive environment that promotes holistic growth (social, emotional, physical and cognitive).
• Observe children’s development and share insights with teachers and parents.
• Assist in preparing engaging classroom materials and resources.
• Supervise indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety and active participation.
• Support daily care routines, including assistance for children who are not yet potty trained, while maintaining hygiene and respect.
• Promote positive values such as respect, cooperation and responsibility in line with Finnish ECEC principles.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Experience in a preschool, kindergarten or early years setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with play‑based learning or Finnish ECEC is an advantage.
• Passion for working with young children and supporting their well‑being and joy of learning.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility and willingness to encourage child‑led learning experiences.
• Comfortable supporting young children with personal care and daily routines.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Must already be residing in Bahrain and be available to join by mid‑August.

Required skills
