Protection Testing Engineer

About the role

The Protection Testing Engineer will join a leading petroleum and power company in Bahrain, responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical protection systems across multiple projects. The role involves planning, executing, and supervising testing activities for power system equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and calculate protection settings for electrical installations.
• Develop and execute test plans for relay and protection schemes.
• Perform circuit analysis, instrumentation setup, and signal processing during tests.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate SCADA systems and ensure compliance with standards.
• Document test results, generate reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide technical supervision and mentorship to junior staff.

Required profile

• B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent diploma).
• 5‑10 years of experience in electrical installation, testing and commissioning.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑discipline projects and lead testing activities.
• Strong decision‑making, time‑management and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with industry regulations, best practices and performance standards.
