QS Planning Engineer

About the role

The QS Planning Engineer will support the Construction and Project Managers in delivering civil engineering projects on schedule and within budget. Reporting administratively and functionally to the managers, the role combines planning, cost control, and coordination across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare method statements, overall work programmes, and detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
• Gather site data to produce daily, weekly and monthly progress reports and issue schedule extracts to site engineers.
• Quantify and cost client‑issued additional works, prepare variations, cost claims and financial adjustments for manager review.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, contracts, quality and commissioning teams; arrange internal site meetings.
• Calculate optimal material, manpower and machinery requirements, raise procurement requests in advance.
• Develop and monitor project budgets, cash‑flow analysis, billing and invoicing.
• Supervise subcontractor performance, prepare shop and as‑built drawings, and reconcile consumable material usage.
• Drive continuous improvement in cost, time and target achievement.

Required profile

• 5 years experience for degree holders or 5‑7 years for diploma holders in civil‑construction projects (earthworks, offshore pipelines, marine works preferred).
• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Strong communication skills, hardworking and flexible with working hours.
