Retail Project Manager

About the role

The Retail Project Manager will lead the planning and execution of retail fit‑out and installation projects for a joinery manufacturing and interiors company. You will be responsible for taking projects from award through to handover, coordinating internal teams and external contractors, and ensuring high‑quality delivery on time and within scope.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and lead project kick‑off meetings with internal departments and fit‑out teams, aligning scope, timeline and expectations.
• Conduct site assessments, surveys, and capture critical dimensions, loading zones and photographs.
• Perform on‑site setting out and marking of joinery equipment when required.
• Address technical queries from clients or general contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Project, monitor progress and generate daily/weekly reports with photos.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
• Maintain continuous communication with fit‑out teams, factory personnel and client representatives, escalating issues as needed.
• Observe installations, report adjustments to equipment and support future fit‑out activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in joinery manufacturing or interiors project management.
• Proven leadership ability with a self‑driven, high‑responsibility mindset.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management, both internal and external.
• Dependable, results‑oriented and capable of driving efficiency improvements.
• Team player who can identify strengths and weaknesses and motivate teams in challenging situations.
