RTO Engineer – Real Time Optimization

About the role

Yokogawa is seeking an experienced RTO Engineer to lead the implementation of Real‑Time Optimization (RTO) and Advanced Process Control (APC) solutions across refining, petrochemical and polymer plants. The role focuses on designing, commissioning and maintaining optimization packages that improve plant efficiency and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for RTO deployment and define hardware/software architecture for APC projects.
• Develop steady‑state simulation models for refining, petrochemical and polymer units.
• Execute full‑life‑cycle RTO projects: control definition, functional design, plant testing, detailed engineering, site integration, SAT, commissioning, post‑audit and PGTR.
• Coordinate multiple projects and provide technical support to ensure successful delivery.
• Offer advisory and maintenance services, modify control strategies, and train plant operators and engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Advanced Process Control and Real‑Time Optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Hands‑on experience commissioning APC controllers in refining, petrochemical and polymer environments.
• Proficiency in steady‑state process simulation for the same sectors.
