Senior Coastal Engineer – Marine & Coastal Projects

About the role
We are seeking a senior coastal engineer to lead marine and coastal projects across the Middle East, primarily in Bahrain and Dubai. The role focuses on delivering resilient, sustainable solutions for coastal protection, shoreline infrastructure, marinas and harbour layouts.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and support coastal engineering workstreams from concept through detailed design and tender stages.
- Develop engineering solutions for breakwaters, revetments, seawalls, beaches, groynes, scour protection and reclamation edge protection.
- Interpret modelling outputs related to wave transformation, hydrodynamics, sediment transport, flushing, residence time, water quality and coastal flood assessments.
- Prepare and review basis of design documents, coastal process assessments, metocean summaries, technical reports, specifications, drawings and tender documentation.
- Coordinate with marine structures, geotechnical, environmental, master‑planning, GIS, CAD/BIM and project management teams.
- Support client meetings, design workshops, authority discussions and multidisciplinary coordination.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in coastal engineering, marine infrastructure or coastal consultancy.
- Proven experience on Middle‑East projects, especially in the GCC region.
- Strong design experience in coastal and shoreline infrastructure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical matters to non‑specialist stakeholders.
