Senior Media Analyst – EU Policy Communications

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Media Analyst to support the European Commission’s DG MENA in monitoring and analysing media coverage of EU policies across the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf. The role is part of a short‑term pool of Non‑Key Experts that will be mobilised on demand throughout a 36‑month project.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor print, broadcast, online and social media for coverage of EU initiatives and partnerships.
• Produce regular media monitoring reports, analytical briefings and concise media summaries.
• Analyse media trends, public narratives and stakeholder perceptions in the MENA region.
• Assess the reach and effectiveness of communication campaigns and media activities.
• Identify emerging issues, risks and opportunities that could affect communication strategies.
• Provide evidence‑based recommendations and insights to communication teams.
• Use media monitoring and analytics tools to collect, analyse and visualise data.
• Contribute to strategic reporting and communication planning.

Required profile

• Degree (or equivalent) in media studies, communication or a related field.
• Fluent English.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools.
• Minimum 5 years of general experience in media analysis/monitoring.
• At least 3 years of experience producing media analysis reports.
