Setting Out Manager – Manufacturing & Joinery

About the role

The Setting Out Manager will coordinate internal and external clients and lead the setting‑out team to ensure smooth project manufacturing, high client satisfaction and balanced quality‑cost performance. You will support divisional goals, drive efficiency improvements and act as the main liaison between production, design and client teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project programmes, schedules and client expectations.
• Guide the setting‑out process from material submission, procurement, shop‑drawing development to prototyping and delivery.
• Manage shop‑drawing preparation, submittal processes and coordinate with production departments.
• Ensure material requirements are identified, procured and available before production starts.
• Handle RFIs, hardware sourcing, drawing approvals and cutting‑list issuance.
• Coordinate site surveys or alternative setting‑out plans for fast‑track projects.
• Interpret contractual obligations and prepare project status reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in a manufacturing or joinery setting‑out environment.
• Proven track record in managing end‑to‑end joinery projects, from site survey to loading lines.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures and common joinery materials (timber, boards, veneers, laminates).
• Excellent client communication and internal coordination skills.
