Speech Language Pathologist

About the role

Amana Healthcare’s new facility in Al Jasra, Bahrain, is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist to join its multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive communication, speech, language and swallowing services to patients across the lifespan in a long‑term care and post‑acute rehabilitation setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication and dysphagia disorders in patients of all ages.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans aligned with patient goals and medical conditions.
• Provide direct therapy for conditions such as aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, stuttering, voice disorders and swallowing impairments.
• Conduct bedside and instrumental swallowing assessments and manage dysphagia interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians and psychologists to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on therapy goals, home programs and communication strategies.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and outcome measures in the hospital’s medical record system.
• Participate in case conferences, family meetings and care planning discussions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Speech Therapy from a recognized university.
• Valid NHRA license or eligibility to obtain one for practice in Bahrain.
• Minimum six years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, preferably in hospital or long‑term care settings.
• Experience managing adult neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease or dementia is highly desirable.
