Farm Manager

About the role

A responsible and hands-on Farm Manager is sought to oversee daily agricultural operations, manage farm resources, supervise staff and ensure efficient production. The ideal candidate has strong organisational and leadership skills, practical agricultural knowledge and the ability to improve farm productivity and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee daily farm operations and activities
• Manage crop cultivation, planting, harvesting and production schedules
• Supervise farm workers, assign duties and monitor staff performance
• Monitor soil conditions, irrigation systems, fertilisers and crop health
• Manage livestock care and feeding where applicable
• Oversee farm equipment, machinery, tools and maintenance schedules
• Monitor production, quality standards and operational efficiency
• Manage agricultural supplies, inventory and resource allocation
• Coordinate with suppliers, agricultural specialists and business partners
• Monitor farm budgets, operating expenses and production costs
• Implement pest control, disease prevention and farm safety procedures
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, production and inventory
• Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations and environmental standards
• Identify ways to improve productivity and reduce costs, and prepare farm reports and production forecasts

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Horticulture, Farm Management or a related field
• Knowledge of agricultural practices, crop production and farm operations
• Understanding of irrigation, soil management, fertilisers and pest control
• Ability to supervise farm workers and coordinate daily activities
• Familiarity with agricultural machinery, equipment and maintenance
• Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of farm budgeting and resource management
• Excellent communication and coordination, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of agricultural safety and environmental practices

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and farm management systems is advantageous
